The Verdict

It’s unisex, edgy, and very farrsshuunnn—it’s Collingwood’s Spacebound Store. If you haven’t heard of this local independent label before, then are you even Melbourne? Jokes aside, Spacebound really needs to be on your list if minimalist t-shirt designs, faux suede, and monochrome detailing makes you first-world broke.

With an in-house team of graphic designers, photographers and videographers, Spacebound has their aesthetic down pat. Inside their concept store is a carefully curated selection of high-quality creations, as well as other unique items from megastar international brands. Among them Puma, Scoulland, Used Future, Drifter Bag, and TID Watches.

Spacebound’s own products all bare the phrase ‘Not From Around Here’, and you can find it stamped on their basic tees, socks, and jumpers. Little Saturn prints appear on red and navy caps, and their incredibly popular 100% Legit not Gucci flies out the door #somelbs.

The latest additions to the store are magazines from Highsnobiety, 032, and Moon Magazine among many more. Brand magazines from Ray Ban, Vans, and Muji join them as well. The whole thing is designed to be a sort of...lifestyle emporium. You come in, try on some new threads, browse the latest in design and fashion, chat a little minamalism. Your basic Northside Saturday. 

With plenty of natural lighting, Spacebound’s space is, of course, beautiful designed, with perfectly placed white-potted plants and plenty of crisp white detailing—like their white neon lights that emphasise that love of monochrome.
