The Verdict

If one thing’s for sure, it’s that when you sit down for a delish brekkie at this Hawthorn café, you ain’t drawing the short straw (pun very much intended), and let us tell you why.

Not only does their aesthetic of wooden trimmings and succulent detailing (the centrepieces are literally succulents) make you dread going home to your milk crate bookcase and fourth-hand faux leather lounge suite, but their menu will have you sworn off peanut butter on Wonderwhite 4LYF.

Once you’ve finished ogling the Pinterest-worthy rustic warehouse décor and scoped out the delish sweets’n’treats display (hello Portuguese Tarts!!), you’ll notice that not only are the plants hanging from the ceiling, but the menu is literally jam-packed with all of your brunch faves.

We’re talkin’ the classic Eggs Benny with poached eggs, crispy potato and braised pork hash, wilted spinach and hollandaise, and the Avocado and Feta Smash on toasted dark rye with herb pesto and seeds (for less than a twenny).

But on top of that, there are dishes you never knew you needed, but that you now can’t live without. Think the oh-so popular Stacks On Waffles, with saffron and caramelised banana waffles injected with wild strawberry coulis, topped with lemon curd, whipped cream and chocolate macarons. Or Garden Of Eden, avocado art with kale, chickpea and avocado hummus, asparagus and radish with poached eggs, and NY Style Chicken Bagel with poached chicken with avocado, semi-dried tomato, chipotle mayo and spinach. And don’t even get us started on their cocktail selection.

"The Fast Charlie" espresso martini and the GG&T (AKA grapefruit gin and tonic, duh) were made for boozy brunchin' but their breakfast martini is legit something everyone needs in their morning routine.

If you’re not already on your way there now, there’s something seriously wrong with you.
