The Verdict

Finding the perfect pair of jeans is like finding a good-looking guy with nice intentions under the age of 25: close to impossible.

They’re either too big, too small, a little loose on the waist or too clingy on the thighs (the jeans, that is. Stay with us). It’s tough out there, but we're here to save your ass. Well, Service Denim is, because they just set up shop on Chapel Street.

Service Denim is Threebyone’s baby. You know, the guys you have to thank for all your fav denim lables—NEUW, Rollas and Abrand. They’ve got two stores in Fitzroy as well, but we’re personally stoked that they’ve decided to give a little piece to us Southsiders.

You won’t find Abrand in the new store, though—these guys wanted to steer clear of the classic General Pants kinda vibe. The new store is super open, which makes finding the right style pretty damn easy. They’ve got lush green plant décor, white lighting and cool music to set the mood (and god do you need to be in the right mood when you’re looking for jeans).

All of the denim in the shop is premium, so you know you’re getting the good stuff. They also pride themselves on being true to size with strong guided fits and friendly staff. The guys who'll help you determine which pair makes your ass look mint.

Get your hands on a pair of NEUWs if you’re looking for something a little more European and premium. Otherwise check out Rollas for a real Puberty Blues, vintage-retro kinda look (anyone else miss Garry? Aargh). What’s so great about Service is they cater to a large demographic. They’ve got a commercial flare, so there’s a big mix of people. You’ve got your spring chickens and your old ducks, your curvy and your skinny, all looking for a neuw (get it) pair of jeans to rock.

Find a pair that fit like a glove, but suffer a little on the height factor? Perhaps you’ve got big booty little waist syndrome (you lucky little bugger). Absolutely no worries with these guys: they offer FREE alterations and repairs from any retailers that sell the same brands as they have in store. BOOYA.
