Before their Gertrude St store opened its doors, you could only get Le Labo ‘pre-mixed’ at MECCA outlets. But now you can enjoy the proper experience: pick your fragrance and the perfumers at Le Labo will mix and bottle if for you. To order. You even get a custom message label wrapped around your bottle. Now that’s some serious perfumery.

You might have heard rumblings about Le Labo over the last few years. Basically it’s taken America by storm. Justin Bieber and Alexa Chung are both fans of their Santal 33 scent (the number beside each fragrance refers to the number of nasal ‘notes’ it contains). Beyoncé burned one of their candles in her album Lemonade. The brand started out in Manhattan in 2006, but it’s already gained cult status, and this is Australia’s first ever store, so it’s kind of a big deal.

More good news: everything in Le Labo is 100% vegan. Perfumes, candles, scented oils. It’s all animal and cruelty-free. This place has gotta be smelled to be believed. Get your ass to Gertrude St for a new signature scent, or the ultimate boutique gift set.
