Bistro Morgan Bakehouse Fitzroy

The Verdict

Making its way across the river, boutique baked goods shop, Bistro Morgan has planted a flag right on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy.

The clean-lined shop on the Alexandra Parade end of the strip is awash with all the familiar favourites that cemented the initial doughnut clout of baker and owner Morgan Hipworth. 

A counterpart to its southside outpost, the Fitzroy iteration of Bistro Morgan follows the same formula of coffee pouring and shelves of treats streaming from the kitchen within. A notable inclusion to the new space is the addition of dine-in seating, with a long bench seat that runs along the shop allowing you to sample the crafts on site. 

Baking on the premises each day there's a steady selection of the all-star hits from pink-iced and sprinkled doughnuts, cinnamon and biscoff-cream coated scrolls, cookies and even hot-pressed toasties including a classic reuben and a house-made pesto melt.

Inglewood is supplying the coffee, with a pristine white and gold La Marzocco espresso machine churning out cup after cup and there's also a selection of shakes.
