After plenty of hype and speculation on an opening date, gelato stans are today treated to the good news that Piccolina's brand spanking new flagship gelateria on Hawthorn's Glenferrie Road is open for business.
Housed in a stunning corner store on the main drag, Piccolina owner and chief gelato officer, Sandra Foti wanted the new store looks to celebrate the heritage of the building, which includes a large arched facade that will remain as a pivotal feature of the new Piccolina.
“I have always loved that building on the corner. It’s probably one of the most iconic on Glenferrie Road, so when it became available, I knew we had to take it”, said Sandra.
The locale is a larger space than the previous Hawthorn store and it stocks all the Piccolina favourites from their 100% natural gelato range, as well as Italian thick shakes—their house-made ‘Better than Nutella’ chocolate sauce on tap, and handmade gelato cakes—including the famed Ferrerolina Rocher. Their new range of gelato also includes a slew of dairy-free flavours with decadent dark chocolate and forthcoming weekly specials.
And for those wondering, yes, like every Piccolina, this one features their signature Better than Nutella choccy fountain.
