Pantre Is The New Asian Grocer Serving Up Cheesy Wagyu Brisket Toasties And Japanese Cheesecakes

People walking past a store with a white exterior and looking in.

From the same team behind Zero Mode who brought us those incredibly aesthetic cream cakes, Pantre is the new Asian grocer and takeaway store on the bottom level of Melbourne Central.

The subterranean destination is a haven for Asian grocer supplies, the floor-to-ceiling shelves are lined with a colourful mix of sauces, spices, noodles and more. It's also a refuge for the harder-to-find items with a range of speciality goods like quality black sesame ice cream, mochi, and bubble tea all on offer.

Playing a huge role in the Pantre offering is their freshly-made toasties. Fusing Japanese flavours with classic sanga combinations, the Wagyu brisket toastie which is oozing with cheddar and mozzarella cheese melted over Kimchi slaw and pickles is an absolute revelation.

There's also a fridge dedicated to pre-made meals to take home, contrary to the stereotype these ultra-luxe options include a range of Bento boxes and Sushi bowls with premium-grade wagyu and fish, including an Ora King salmon and twice-cooked eel number.

On the sweets front, you'll find a range of the Zero Mode's desserts from their Japanese-style cheesecakes as well as the Choux buns which have already well-established as some of the finest in the city.  Check out everything about Pantre over here
