With convenient flight schedules and incredible attractions, Singapore is the ultimate stopover when it comes to breaking up a long-haul flight.
You may be familiar with the classics, but we’ve dug deep to uncover epic spots so that even a short stopover becomes its own holiday—and you might just find you want to stay longer. To help you discover the Lion City’s latest attractions and hidden treasures, we’ve partnered with Singapore Airlines, so read on to explore more of what Singapore has to offer in 2025.
Find The Old And New In Chinatown
Uncover Singapore’s rich heritage in Chinatown with a visit to the historic Smith Street. Undergoing a huge revitalisation with the transformation of its shophouses, the refurbishment includes several new eateries—including Boon Tong Kee (best known for its Cantonese-style chicken rice), the iconic Killiney cafe, the Happiest Clam seafood restaurant and the Gelato Garden.
Scope out the kaleidescopic murals that adorn the surrounding alleys and streets, and if you have time, immerse yourself in Peranakan culture at the Baba House and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum.
Chase Adventure At Changi Airport
Repeatedly voted as one of the best airports in the world for its efficiency, attractions and amenities, you could easily spend your entire stopover at Changi Airport.
Seeing as there’s plenty of time to sit during your flight, burn off some energy at the bouncing net and mirror maze (Jewel Changi Airport Canopy Park, Level 5), climbing wall Climb@T3 (Terminal 3) and the sunflower garden (Terminal 2).
Changi also lays claim to the tallest slide in an airport and its very own butterfly garden, with both attractions located in Terminal 3, and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. Also check out the Wonderfall in Terminal 2, with a musical show played every half hour. To make the most of your time, download the app and create your own airport adventure.
Weave Through A Tree Canopy
The pedestrian bridge at Henderson Waves hovers 36 metres above the ground, starting at Mount Faber Plaza, winding through the Telok Blangah Hill Park, and along the Southern Ridges. The distinct design is an impressive sight, resembling a series of rolling wooden curved ribs. The perfect antidote to a long-haul flight while stretching your legs in nature, it’s also totally free.
Play In The Powder
Shred through real snowfall and scope the three-storey Glacier Luge at Snow City. It may be tropical outside, but Singapore’s first permanent indoor snow centre offers up arctic adventures at any time of year.
It’s best to reserve a time slot for the snow play sessions, including the 60-metre snow slope and ice bumper cars. Winter clothing is included, but bring your sense of adventure and brace yourself for the cold.
Sleep Beneath The Sea
Over on Sentosa Island at Resorts World Sentosa, the double-storey townhouses at Equarius Villas offer incredible luxury above and below sea level. Upstairs, you’ll find an open-plan living area with an outdoor patio and jacuzzi, while downstairs, you can sleep next to sea life from your very own aquarium of 40,000 marine creatures.
After a kip with the fishies, spend your days exploring Universal Studios Singapore and the adrenaline-inducing indoor racing track at HyperDrive at The Palawan, Asia’s first indoor gamified electric go-kart circuit.
Solve A Murder At Mini Golf
A world-first where mini golf meets murder mystery, Kulnari Mystery Golf transports you to the 1920s to solve a crime surrounding the intriguing Kulnari Island.
Collect clues as you play 18 holes, with a pitstop and refreshments at the 9th Hole Bar to recap what you’ve worked out so far. This multi-sensory mix of escape room and golf is set in Boat Quay, so there are plenty of spots to celebrate your skills of deduction after.
Wind Your Way Through Light And Colour
Within the Marina Bay Sands complex sits Singapore’s Art Museum where you’ll find a stunning collaboration between teamLab and Digital Light Canvas.
In a kaleidoscope of light and colour, enter a dream-like state as you move between flowers blooming beneath your feet and giant koi fish gliding by. Indulge in your creativity through sketching and painting to create a take-home keepsake.
Cover Every Corner Of Gardens By The Bay
Visiting Singapore without heading to Gardens by the Bay is like travelling to Paris and skipping out on the Eiffel Tower. There’s a reason this iconic attraction is repeatedly voted as one of the best in the world.
However many times you’ve visited the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome or Supertree Grove, the revolving exhibitions, music and light shows mean there’s always something new to witness. For example, the latest outdoor social hub which is free to the public is an all-new Active Garden that brings together people of all ages and walks of life. Similarly, the new Bay East Gardens will open in 2027 with even more experiential attractions—you never want to miss a chance to explore the Gardens by the Bay.
Stumble Upon A Festival
There’s a good chance your stopover will coincide with one of Singapore’s many vivid citywide celebrations. Chinese New Year is an explosion of festivities in January and February, while the KITA Food Festival in March honours Southeast Asia’s culinary diversity with innovative dinners and kitchen takeovers.
Also in March, the Five Footway Festival features tours, workshops, exhibitions and performances throughout Chinatown, plus the LIV Golf Singapore attracts golfing enthusiasts over on Sentosa Island.
Capturing the Chinese influence in Singapore, the Dragon Boat Festival races in the Bedok Reservoir in May, while in August and September, the Singapore Night Festival explodes over several weekends in the Bras Basah Bugis precinct with an annual theme celebrating Singapore’s arts and culture.
And if the entertainment lineup is anything to go by, you don’t need to be a racing fanatic for the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix in October, with chart-topping headliners like G-Dragon and Elton John hitting the stage.
