Chin Chin Is Going Regional—With A New Locale Opening In Geelong

By

In its first-ever regional outpost, the acclaimed Southeast Asian restaurant, Chin Chin is making its way to Geelong with a unique venture, Club Chin Chin. Set to open in late April, the exclusive one-year pop-up pays homage to Geelong, the hometown of Restaurateur Chris Lucas and his beloved AFL team, the Geelong Cats.

Taking the classic pies and footy fare up a notch, this pop-up is an ode to Chin Chin—a riotous collision of casual Southeast Asian cuisine and local culture. The menu amalgamates the essence of its Melbourne and Sydney siblings while standing apart with local ingredients and influences.

Diners can expect Executive Chef Benjamin Cooper’s renowned ‘feed me’ menus, along with signature dishes like the kingfish sashimi dressed with lime, chilli, coconut and Thai basil—a dish that has graced all our Instagram feeds—with a local spin.

There'll also be a grip of dishes exclusive to Club Chin Chin, including the likes of a salad of spiced tiger prawns, glass noodles, Asian celery and chilli lime dressing; twice cooked beef
short rib with coconut salad and desserts including a Chin Chin ice cream sundae—no doubt a to-be crowd favourite.

Aptly named, Club Chin Chin is situated at the GMHBA Stadium, rightly residing within the Geelong Football Club premises. Beyond catering to hungry footy fans seeking an elevated pre-game feed, diners from the Surf Coast and Bellarine Peninsula are welcome to dine throughout the year for lunch and dinner.

Books are opening tomorrow at 10am, and those eager to experience the Club Chin Chin can make a reservation for Saturday 4 May onwards here
