Forget celebrity fragrances and department store clerks handing out smelling strips. If you love hard-to-find, boutique fragrances dreamt up by artisans from far-flung places, Libertine Parfumerie is for you. 

The stunning Sydney flagship store is home to a long list of timeless fragrance houses like Amouage, Creed, Santa Maria Novella, and Trudon, and modern scent brands like Lola James Harper, Goldfield and Banks, and 19—69.

At Libertine Perfumerie, expect to see perfumes, soaps, and lotions, alongside home fragrances like candles and diffusers. 

Fans of fragrance will swoon over the opulent antique-inspired interiors by local interior designer Tamsin Johnson. "I set about researching a lot of classical European druggists and other stores and reflecting upon them as inspiration for this project,” Johnson says.

“One of my favourite things to do is explore classical pharmacies overseas, particularly those very old ones in Milan, Vienna, and throughout France. They are so dignified and ornate. I wanted to recreate that feeling here.” 

We love the Versailles-inspired parquetry flooring, the quaint open-sky courtyard, and the hidden room lined with rare and precious bottles from Libertine Parfumerie’s marquee perfume brands, like Creed, Roja Parfums, and Astier de Villatte.
