As far as hype goes, Japanese cheesecake brand LeTAO is the crème de la crème, with one of their cheesecakes selling every 10 seconds. Their Sydney flagship is the place to experience the full menu, with some Australian specials thrown in too.
Made with a Hokkaido cream base, Italian mascarpone, and Australian cream cheese, LeTAO cheesecakes are rich and creamy to taste.
The Double Fromage is the signature, but other notables on the menu include the Matcha Double, made with Uji matcha, the Niagara Double, with green Niagara grapes, and the Basque-style Tromage cake made with Danish cream cheese.
Alongside the list of sleek-looking cheesecakes, you can sample more Hokkaido dairy delights in the form of Jersey milk rolls, buttery cheese cookies, Darjeeling tea-infused chocolate truffles, and the LeTAO Sundae made with creamy swirls of cheese or milk-flavoured soft serve.
Located in the Sydney CBD and designed by K. Holland, the new flagship is more like a museum than a cakeshop with granite benches, mirrored ceilings, and staff roaming Apple Store-style with tablets instead of the traditional checkout.
