Greens Super Market is Australia’s first completely plant-based supermarket, with a mission to make plant-based living more accessible and affordable, and bust the myth that making environmentally conscious choices has to cost and arm and a leg.
Found in the heart of Sydney’s plant-based mecca, Newtown, Greens Super Market stocks the country’s widest selection of exclusively plant-based products, fresh produce, household staples, and dishes prepared by the in-house chef and nutritionist.
“Greens is not just somewhere where you come and do your shopping,” says CEO Peter Varvaressos.
“It is somewhere that we want the community to gather… Ultimately, we are really honoured to be extending our ethos to the growing number of consumers that are hungry to shop differently.”
Sustainability is a huge focus, with the entire vegan supermarket powered by 62 solar panels on the roof, a commitment to reducing food waste through partnerships with nearby plant-based eateries, and a production facility to develop products not yet available in Australia so as to avoid the environmental impact of shipping—while also keeping costs low.
There's plenty for the non-vegans and dietary dabblers as well, with an in-house bakery making loaves and focaccia, and complimentary still and sparkling water that can be taken home in BYO bottles.
Stay tuned for more on the dining options opening at Greens Super Market in 2023.
