This month, a three-day underground art fair is hitting Sydney and you’ll want to make sure you get around it in all its glory.
The Other Art Fair showcases all the talent from a whopping 130 emerging and independent artists (with more than half exhibiting their work for the first time so the first-access vibes are real).
You’ll find this one at Barangaroo's mammoth, underground cave The Cutaway, and you can expect a bunch of activities to get into, interactive art and an epic sling of food stalls from the likes of Bar Pho and Broomfield Pies to work your way through.
As for the standouts, make sure you hit up Extract of Red Air, an inflatable art collaboration between Goldberg Aberline Studio and Yindjibarndi artists Sharon and Kaye Warrie that expresses ideas of acknowledgment and hopefulness for Australia’s Indigenous history and future.
There’s also the playful Light Seesaw (yes, you can actually climb onto it) which has been featured internationally by Melbourne based multimedia studio ENESS, live tattooing exhibitions by the graffiti-inspired Lily Gloria, performances from DOOF Secretaries (Department of Outdoor Fun) and creative workshops by Marrickville-based not for profit MakerSpace & Co.
