Big news, guys. TAFE NSW is offering a heap of fee-free short courses so you can skill up across the likes of computing, social media, and business administration.
The courses are available through the Australian Government’s and state government’s initiative called JobTrainer, a $2 billion scheme aimed at helping young Aussies skill up in a number of trades that have been identified as big growth areas.
As for the types of new fee JobTrainer short courses you’ll actually find at TAFE NSW, well, there’s a heap. Some of these include courses in accounting and finance, building creative digital imaging skills, coding, introductions to UX and UI design, live stream entertainment, video production, construction, bush regeneration, mental health, and so much more.
In terms of who can actually qualify under NSW JobTrainer—you’ll have to be a resident of NSW, aged between 17 - 24 years of age or currently unemployed (which includes people who are new to the workforce or need to re-skill due to job loss) or receiving an income support payment like Jobseeker, Austudy, or Youth Allowance.
This new bout of free JobTrainer short courses is set to commence in April and May so for more information and to check your eligibility, head here.
