It’s been a pretty shaky year for Carriageworks—but our favourite arts and culture precinct is here to stay, and they’ve just revealed they will be tying up 2020 in a (Christmas) bow with their much-loved Twilight Christmas Market.
Hosted on Wednesday 23 December, it’s set to be a full-blown Christmas edition of Carriageworks’ famous Farmers Market. So yes, expect to shop rows of seasonal produce from around 70 of NSW’s leading growers, farmers, and artisans.
If like most of us this year, you’re planning a Christmas at home, this will be your time to shine and shop the goods to make your Chrissie table second to none. From meat to fresh seafood, fruit, vegetables, bread, festive treats like mince pies, flowers, and stacks of cheese, glorious cheese—everything you need is here.
As for our top picks of what to shop at the market, you’ll find us queueing for Pepe Saya’s brandy butter and Christmas tree-shaped crumpets from Crumpets by Merna. We’ll be picking up some festive wild ales from Wildflower Brewing Co and Yulli’s, some charcuterie for our cheeseboard from LP’s Quality Meats, baked goods from Flour and Stone, and some flowers for the table from Jonima Flowers.
And, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a big box of crimson-coloured cherries from Kurrawong Organics. The full lineup of vendors is available here.
Of course, with COVID restrictions in play—it won’t be a rock-up-and-shop-when-you-like type affair. You’ll need to register to shop within specific sessions, which include 4 - 5pm, 5 - 6pm, 6 - 7pm, and 7 - 8pm. Registration will open on Tuesday 1 December, and close when the event reaches capacity.
