With WA's borders officially set to open from Saturday 5 February, Qantas has wasted no time announcing a brand new direct route from Perth to Rome set to take off as early as June 2022.

Running three times a week, the new non-stop route will make it that much easier for West Aussies to reconnect with friends and family over in Europe or just get over for a much-needed vacay.

Along with this good news, they've also just confirmed they'll be bringing back their popular Perth to London direct flights in April 2022 too, which you can easily link up with connecting flights that'll get you out to the rest of Europe.

It's all part of the State Government's plan to reconnect WA with international travel and reunite friends and family that have been separated during the pandemic. And to say we're excited is an understatement.

Return flights to Rome are on sale now from $1649, so best check your passport expiry date and get booking.

Before you lock in anything, you might want to check out how to turn your four weeks of annual leave into seven.
