Skin whisperer Kim Tran is known for her investigative approach to skincare and the incredible results that follow so when she told me about a brand new treatment that could help with dull-looking skin, uneven skin tone, visible pores and ageing, I could not make my way to her beautiful North Perth clinic La Belle Peau fast enough.
Just a heads up, the complexion perfection trio treatment is recommended for anyone looking for a total skin overhaul and does not mind a couple of days of downtime. Also, if you’re after a day spa experience with lots of face massaging and nice-smelling oils, this treatment is most definitely not for you. This is a hardcore treatment which got quite painful at times but wow, does it get results fast.
So How Does It Work?
The treatment incorporates cryo broadlight face, clear & brilliant laser and a customised skin booster to finish. Cryo broadlight evens out skin tone, strengthens skin, reduces redness and lightens pigmentation. Clear & brilliant then stimulates new collagen to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and open pores. It also stimulates the skin’s natural moisture factor for a healthy glow and removes dead skin cells. Finally, the skin booster takes results to the next level by accelerating the healing process and boosting collagen production.
Excellent treatments on their own, the combination of these three treatments together has proven to be a powerful complexion perfector. Sign me up.
How Did It Go Down?
Kim started by cleansing my face which—I won’t lie—was the nicest part of the treatment.
The cryo broadlight, which involves intense pulses of light over the face, basically felt like rubber band snaps to the skin. It was painful but not too painful and all done within 10 minutes. Then came the clear & brilliant laser. Again, it wasn’t unbearable, but it does feel like a whole lot of hot zaps on your face with some parts of the face hurting more than others (I’m looking at you, nose and hair line). 20 minutes later, that part was done and the booster was the final and most welcome part of the treatment.
What Happens After?
My face was quite red and sore for the rest the day—kind of like I had bad sunburn but immediately my pores looked smaller and my skin tone seemed more even. By the next day, my face was back to its normal shade but quite rough and a little sore. For the next four days, my skin felt really rough but by day five post-treatment, all that rough skin was gone and my skin texture and tone was incredible. Even after a few bad nights’ sleep, my skin was clear, glowy and fresh.
Was It Worth It?
Heck yes! My skin is noticeably brighter, more plump and dewy. Plus apparently, the treatment keeps working to stimulate collagen for weeks afterwards. It’s not the cheapest treatment going around (a single treatment is $665), but if you’ve got something special coming up or if your 2022 goals include some kind of plan to finally get your skin in check, this treatment is the gold standard.
