While you may know about Bodhi, as any self-respecting day spa lover should, you may not have heard about Emma Lewisham. Hailing from the shores of New Zealand, this skincare brand is a science-led luxury skincare line that’s amazingly good for skin, and equally as good for the planet. There is nothing not to love.
Once you’ve got your appointment secured we reckon the best idea is to book out the whole day for yourself. Sleep in, grab a good coffee, or head to brunch with some mates before making your way to the spa for a couple of hours of pure goodness.
The Emma Lewisham brightening facial is a top-to-toe experience. So while your face certainly gets a whole lotta love, you can expect to walk out feeling like you’ve had a complete body experience. This is what we really love about this treatment.
Once you’ve settled into that glorious fluffy robe and slippers you’ll be taken to one of the beautiful treatment rooms. The experience starts with a Himalayan salt foot bath and guided meditation to set the scene and help you to relax into your spot of indulgence.
You’ll then jump into the world’s most comfortable heated bed, complete with all the fluffy pillows and blankets you could possibly desire. It is literally the best thing you can do for yourself in Winter. You can’t help but relax and feel your worries melt away as you try not to fall asleep—and please don’t, there’s not a minute you’ll want to miss here.
The facial is all about mindfulness, and you’ll seriously feel how it’s delivered with love and you at the front and centre. If this doesn't make you forget about the daily grind of life, we’re not sure what will. The skincare products are packed full of antioxidants, vitamins and peptides meaning they target hydration, pigmentation and radiance- everything we need as the weather gets cooler. We’re absolutely head over heels for the Supernatural hydration cream—if there’s one thing you want to take home from Bodhi (other than the robe of course), this will make you feel like a Queen before you jump into bed each night.
You’ll be treated to a foot, arm and scalp massage, which are simply dreamy. It means you get a facial and still the best bits of a massage. We couldn’t think of anything better. While everything is amazing, hands down, the best part of the whole experience is the facial massage with rose quartz crystals. The signature lymphatic drainage massage feels ridiculously good and it also works to stimulate circulation, detoxify and promote absorption of the ultra-restorative products into the skin. If we could pay to have this done all day, you can guarantee we’d be there.
You can expect your skin to feel plump and hydrated afterwards, which we obviously love, but you’ll also walk away feeling relaxed, grounded and with a sense of calm. The use of crystals throughout the facial, as well as soothing affirmations and the whole body experience is something like no other.
We say it every time, and we’ll say it again—the end sucks. The only solace you get is a moment longer in that robe as you enjoy a freshly brewed tea and signature fruit platter as you while away a few more moments in life.
This is where we recommend having the day to yourself—get home, get stuck into Netflix with a cuppa or red wine and bask in the glory of what you’ve done for yourself during the day. Sounds like pure bliss.
