Rosmarino was one of our favourite new openings of 2021, so we are mighty excited for the arrival of its sister venue, Etna, which just opened right around the corner in the Stewart & Hemmant building. But while Rosmarino focuses on refined Italian cuisine, Etna is a little more casual and all about the pizza, with plenty of wine to pair with them.
Nab yourself a table in the red brick-lined venue and start your feast with snack plates like burrata with truffle honey, fried stuffed olives and fritto misto, a fried mix of school prawns, calamari and sardines. The real reason you're here though, is the wood-fired pizzas on a wholemeal base handmade using a six-year-old sourdough starter, 48 hours of fermentation and a hefty dose of pure Italian love. You can choose from classic slices like margherita, capricciosa and napoli, or mix it up with modern creations like the mantova, with fior di latte, taleggio, sausage, rosemary, parigiano reggiano and amaretti dust on a pumpkin base.
