Born in Melbourne, artisan croissant bakery Croix Croissant has made its Queensland debut in the southside suburb of Hillcrest. Already a hit with the locals (as you’ll be able to guess by the queues out the door), this decadent spot is ready and waiting to cater to all your sweet and savoury treat needs. 

With a sign that promises espresso, pastries and happiness over the counter, Croix Croissant delivers just that. Though they bake up classics like almond and plain croissants, the real stars are their more creative goodies—think pandan coconut croissants, creme brulee pastries, crookies, cruffins and pistachio cream-filled croissant rolls. Their most famed item is undoubtedly the croissant cheeseburger—don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it. 

You can pull up a chair inside their casual dining area or grab a seat outside for the full brunch experience, but if you’re strapped for time takeaway boxes are provided for the occasional croissant on the go.
