Not content with bringing just one venue to Brisbane, Andrew McConnell has opened two, with Bar Miette joining the Queensland edition of iconic Melbourne spot Supernormal at 443 Queen Street, dishing up a menu that spans from breakfast right through until dinner.

Perched on an elevated vantage point along the river, the European-inspired terrace bar boasts enviable views of the Story Bridge—an attribute it takes full advantage of by having the majority of its dining space outdoors. Designed by ACME, the venue feels very Amalfi Coast, with terracotta red tabletops, wicker chairs and vibrant umbrellas scattered across the piazza-style terrace.

With Jason Barratt, ex-Paper Daisy, Rae’s at Wategos, Attica and Stokehouse, taking up the role of Executive Chef for both Bar Miette and Supernormal, you can expect an elevated menu of casual eats here. Start the day with the likes of a heirloom zucchini quiche with caramelised onion, gruyère and provolone, then move onto their plates of anchovy toast, siciliana style yellowfin tuna and a milk bun stacked with mortadella, salted butter and smoked maple syrup—whether it's for a business lunch or long, lingering dinner.

For the afterwork and weekend crowd, there’s also a tailored list of classic cocktails and an extensive wine list, poured from a stunning curved bar inside. And on Monday nights, the team have introduced burger nights. Every Monday (and only Monday) from 4pm, you can wrap your hands around The Bar Miette Burger—an Angus beef patty, cheese, lettuce, onion and tomato and Westmont pickles on a Martin's potato bun with Miette burger sauce, served with fries. Alternatively, roll in from 12pm on a Saturday and Sunday and treat yourself to a selection of their favourite charcoal-grilled cuts, seafood and seasonal produce.
