Don your black turtlenecks, South Bank is bringing us Jazz On The Green this July. Local jazz legends and emerging talent will fill the last Friday and Saturday of the month with smooth tones served alongside tasty eats and no shortage of beverages.
The best part? This mini-jazz fest is entirely free. This makes it the perfect opportunity to lay back on the grassy lawns of Riverside Green and take in the views while you soak up the soothing sounds.
Don’t let the free entry fool you, this is no open-mic night. The line-up features local greats, international talent, and a few up-and-comers who are well worth discovering. Headliners include Sydney jazz icon Emma Pask and Brisbane’s own local legend Franky Smart, two powerhouse vocalists you don’t want to miss.
If jazzy vibes make you peckish, South Bank always has you covered. Whatever you’re craving, they have it. Select from gourmet eats throughout the parklands and specialty vendors catering for Jazz On The Green. Warm up with a hot buttered rum from Hop & Pickle, who will be whipping up cocktails and mocktails across the two days, try Ole Sangria Restaurant's famous seafood and vegetarian paellas and the truffle arancini or traditional beef lasagne from Vici Italian.
Hungry for more live tunes? Jazz On The Green is just part one of the precinct’s new music program, Live at South Bank. From winter jazz to a vinyl record market, listening parties, and busking festivals, there are plenty of tunes by the river to come.
