Ever wondered what's topping the wishlist of a niche perfumery expert? We did too, so we chatted with Nick Smart, the founder and director of Agence de Parfum and its retail sister, Libertine Parfumerie. Renowned for his unparalleled expertise in fragrance and for revolutionising the scent scene on our local shores, Nick gave us the lowdown on his next must-have purchases.
From mood-boosting scents to vintage-inspired watches and a pair of retro Jordans, Nick's picks are a must-shop. Ready to get inspired? Keep scrolling to discover what's caught Nick’s eye—and nose!
Astier de Villate Anchorage Incense
I love a mood-boosting scent, and Astier’s ancient cedar essence is as soothing as it gets.
Fornassetti Original Sin Candelabra
Fornasetti is an incredible brand. The Original Sin collection is stunning and so distinctive, but the ultimate statement piece for the home has to be this candelabra. The biggest downside is not having one in every room.
La Perla Soothing Bath and Shower Oil
If there is a land of milk and honey, then this would be the cleanser of choice. From the beautiful lace and grosgrain detailing on the bottle, to the ultra-luxe feel from oil to lather, it’s a daily luxury I can’t live without.
Amouage Honour Man
I adore Amouage. I’ve been wearing Honour Man for years, and it’s one I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of. Super masculine, spicy, and with such a dreamy drydown…bliss in a bottle.
Carrière Frères Tomato candle
The thought of a tomato fragrance can raise eyebrows. However, this is all about green, with garden aromas and a grounding vegetal flavour. Something I really enjoy.
6 Head
World-class steak and primo views of the Sydney Opera House are just the tip of the iceberg. Temperature-controlled cabinets housing boutique wine and dry-aged meat art installations — not your run-of-the-mill steakhouse.
Circular Ring Pro
A wearable that looks chic AND gives me more energy? Sign. Me. Up!
Balenciaga Large-Fit T-Shirt
Comfort, to me, is an oversize tee. With the 90s look back with a bang, the oversize is now a super contemporary cut. For me, Balenciaga is king of the loose drape. Bold design elements and exaggerated proportions speak my language.
Casio Vintage Watch
I love a timepiece — and Casio really is a brand after my own heart. The Vintage wristwatch is achingly cool. Super iconic and with a certain kitschiness about the look and feel. Love.
Air Jordan Retro 5
I’ve always had a soft spot for high-tops and the Retro 5 is one of the strongest silhouettes in streetwear. While I love the classic ‘Grape’ or ‘Red Fire’ colourways, I’m pining for a pair with a modern scheme — (yes, I’m looking at you, A Ma Maniére ‘Dusk’ Collab!).
