Sil Bi Jip is a Korean restaurant and after-dark snack bar in the Sydney Place dining precinct, sharing a taste of Korea’s street food and pocha culture in the heart of the Sydney CBD.
The lunchtime menu offers Korean soul food favourites in the form of boxes, rice bowls or rice rolls with proteins like bulgogi (sweet soy sauce marinade beef), ojingeo-bokkeum (stir fried spicy squid) and dak gang jeong (spicy deep fried chicken). Seasonal soups and loaded Korean hot dogs are on the lunch menu too, and everything’s available for dine-in or takeaway for upgraded desk lunches.
In the evening, 21 types of Korean liquor including soju, makgeolli, and cocktails can be paired with a snack menu offering makhoe (fisherman-style sashimi), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), gyeran mari (Korean-style rolled omelette) and mok sal gui (char-gilled pork neck).
“Our goal is to feed people nourishing, high-quality dishes at an affordable price point, offering everything we love about Korean street food”, says owner Dennis Oh.
Sil Bi Jip neighbours more beloved eateries in the Sydney Place dining precinct like Malay Chinese Noodles, Lode Pies and Kosta’s Takeaway.
