Bartiga is a relaxed but stylish restaurant and bar that draws inspiration from Southeast Asia and the modern Australian dining style that’s suited to its laid-back locale in Double Bay.
Head chef Faheem Noor—who was previously at nearby Empire Lounge in Rose Bay, Tetsuya’s and Gordon Ramsay’s Maze in London—is drawing from his Malaysian heritage.
Expect to see dishes like butter-poached bug rolls with red curry pesto, tom yum-inspired spaghettini with barbecued prawns, and steaks dressed with Asian herb chimichurri and crispy onions.
There's also a crispy prawn toast sando, wagyu beef sliders with red curry pesto, and duck tacos served on betel leaves—making this one of Sydney's more interesting snack menus.
Bartiga’s drinks offering includes cocktails with Southeast Asian flavours by mixologist Vincent Valliere (Byron Bay’s Casa Luna, and now-closed Pelicano), and a diverse selection of wines, perfect for evening sips in the al fresco streetside space surrounded by greenery.
For Double Bay’s early birds, Bartiga Express offers coffees and grab-and-go eats between 7am and midday.
