If you are hypnotised by the infectious aroma of freshly baked doughnuts, then boy do we have an announcement for you. Kenilworth Country Bakery is about to open up their second location on the Mooloolaba Wharf, so you no longer have to make the lengthy trip to Kenilworth to get your hands on their sweet treats—cue doughnuts for breakfast every day.

If you’re out of the loop (or metaphorical doughnut) on the Kenilworth Country Bakery, let us fill you in real quick. The bakery, which opened almost 100 years ago in 1924 has become a famous tourist destination in the Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Kenilworth. What makes them so famous you might ask? Well, it might have something to do with their 1kg doughnut challenge. People come far and wide to tackle this ultimate doughnut, but this is not the only super-sized item on the menu. If a kilo of dough and cream is too much for you, why not downsize and try their 800g doughnut rings, or maybe save time and get your coffee inside a donut. Not much of a sweet tooth? How about a 1kg sausage roll? Of course they also sell regular sized bakery items if large portions are not for you.

The family-run bakery, which will be opening in January 2022, will be a take-away only venue featuring all-time favourites from their original location plus the added bonus of being smack bang in the hustle and bustle of the Mooloolaba Wharf. So it’s the perfect spot to pull up a chair in front of the water, baked goods in hand, and leave all your stress in the city for even a fleeting moment while you just eat a doughnut or two.
