The Verdict

Just when you thought The Royal couldn’t get any better, they’ve welcomed Willi’s—a funky new corner bar and kitchen—into their space with open arms. The vibes are classic Paris bistro meets edgy nouveau-chic wine bar, with lavish decor and marble tabletops for days.

Expect laid-back vibes and serious charm along with a quirky (and extensive) wine list, featuring delectable Aussie and international drops from old world winemakers through to those new wave naturals we've become so fond of. If you’re not a wine fan, eye off the cocktail list—it's full of divine, palette-pushing flavour pairings.

The food menu certainly won’t disappoint either. It's got classic and playfully modern bar snacks, like the cured deli meats or ‘nduja corndog; quick and easy lunches like the prime rib sanga with pickled iceberg mustard cream; and classy sundowner dishes like prime shucked oysters and Kingfish crudo.

When it comes to dessert, the peach sorbet is pretty hard to ignore. Served inside a real whole peach on a bed of crushed ice, it’s certainly Insta-worthy and downright delicious.

Editor's note: Willi's is currently taking a break but you can still hire the space for private functions.

Gibney

White tablecloths, marble, jacketed wait staff and caviar bumps—Gibney is hands down the fanciest of all the venues under George Kailis' name. And honestly, it might just take the cake for 'most opulent dining destination' in all of Perth.

Tom’s Providore & Wine Bar

If you’re a Leederville local, you will probably recall the devastation felt the day we discovered the beloved Tom’s Cafe right in the heart of Oxford Street was closing down towards the start of the pandemic. But thankfully since closing the OG, the legends have come back with a new and improved Tom’s in Highgate.
