An absolute jewel of King Street, Perth bar Varnish on King has successfully transplanted an American Whiskey bar into Perth’s CBD. And they've been doing a damn good job of it for a whole decade now.
Descend into this slick underground basement bar to get your hands on an epic selection of bourbon and whiskey as well as plenty of over-the-top American eats like mac and cheese, fried chicken wings socked in smokey bourbon sauce and crispy fried potatoes.
Their whiskey and bacon flights are legendary, because who doesn't want four styles of pork paired with whiskey? And this August, they've teamed up with Mary St Bakery to bring you the perfect sweet to finish—boozy doughnuts with orange-scented Maker's Mark bourbon custard, brûléed using Angostura bitters sugar. Available from 4pm every Friday and Saturday this August.
