Buckle up, Yellowstone is officially back. Since the fifth season was announced in February, we've been on the edge of our seats, waiting to see what's next for the Dutton Family. With the two-hour November 14 premiere on Neon, Sky's SoHo Channel and Sky Go around the corner—we've rounded up what you need to know.
If the ten episodes in previous seasons of the acclaimed show weren't enough, we're pleased to report the show's received an extended four-episode order with the season split into two chapters of seven episodes each; a pattern we're seeing with a number of beloved series, and we're certainly not mad about it.
If you're new to the series—there's still time to binge all four seasons to get up to date—the modern-day western series follows John Dutton III (Kevin Costner), the patriarch of the influential Dutton Family who owns the largest ranch in the U.S.
Enlisting a savage—and we mean savage—combination of business, politics and violence, the series follows the entire Dutton family as they do whatever it takes to protect the ranch and their way of life from modern-day forces.
Costner's role in the series is undoubtedly one of his best and we can't wait to see what's in store for him this season. Thankfully, many of the main cast is returning for the new season including Costner, Luke Grimes (as son Kayce), Kelly Reilly (as daughter Beth), Wes Bentley (as son Jamie), Cole Hauser (as ranch foreman Rip Wheeler) and Gil Birmingham (as Chief Thomas Rainwater).
The fifth season picks up where the Dutton family last left off, with the action-packed trailer teasing an explosive plot following John's successful election as governor of Montana.
Buckle up, this season is set to be the bloodiest yet.
