There’s nothing more exciting than when the carnival comes to town—the sweet smell of candy floss in the air, the buzz of anticipation—it’s basically carte blanche to return to the days of childish abandon.
So, if you haven’t made it down to the North Shore Mega Fun Carnival yet you’ll need to get a wriggle on as it’s packing up this weekend.
Expect all your childhood faves to be in attendance at the free-entry carnival, including a ferris wheel, ghost train, scream machine, hurricane, dodgem cars, flying dragon and the cup and saucer ride just to name a few. Adrenalin junkies—be sure to check out the extreme turbo boost—a Dutch ride that will spin you a dizzying 120 km/hr.
While the rides operate on a coupon basis don’t forget to bring your cash—you’ll need it for refueling at the food trucks, or trying your hand at the myriad of games lining the site.
Buy a pass and you can score unlimited rides between 6.30pm to 9.30pm and if you rock up between 1pm and 2pm you’ll get a free spin, can’t say fairer than that.
