Rewind to this time last year and there was one thing on everyone’s mind—aside from the big C–and that was a certain peroxide blonde-mulletted, singing cowboy by the name of Tiger King.
That’s right, whether you want to admit it or not, we were all straight up obsessed with Joe Exotic and his menagerie of big cats and questionable co-stars.
While you might think you’ve moved on from Exotic and his wild ways, the King is back… with a Hollywood TV series full of A-listers and yes, you’re going to want to tune in.
Joe Exotic: The Series—because apparently they’re aren’t enough of them already—is being adapted from the uber popular Wondery podcast Joe Exotic (from the same people that brought us Dirty John and Dr. Death). It explores the real story behind the Netflix doco and boasts a pretty legit cast.
There’s Emmy Award winner Dennis Quaid who will play Rick Kirkham, the American journalist who was the Exotic’s reality show producer. He’ll be joined by the hilarious Kate McKinnon, who plays Exotic’s nemesis and flower-crown wearing Carole Baskin and John Cameron Mitchell (Shrill and Girls), will take on the role of Exotic. Honestly, anything that McKinnon is a part of, we want to see.
The show is currently in production so we don’t have an air date as yet but as soon as we know, you’ll know.
In the meantime, binge your way through the best shows on Netflix Australia and in New Zealand.
