While you might not be taking a trip to the sunny land of Florida anytime soon, you can be there in spirit—with a cheeky marg in hand, of course—at Tropic Vice. The expansive rooftop space overlooking the iconic Nobby’s strip first opened in late 2021 and has just reopened after a major revamp.
Nan’s Coffee
Gold Coast is no stranger to minimalistic (yet beautiful) cafes, but Nan’s Coffee brings something you don’t see every day to the table. Nan’s Coffee is one of the prettiest dog-friendly cafes on the Gold Coast, letting you bring along a furry friend to enjoy your morning with. Located near Spot Apartments, happy dog-loving partners Hannah and Jamiti have created a cafe that has everything you could need.

The Banya

Built on the bricks of a 1920’s bank, The Banya is a modern, experiential twist on a traditional European bathhouse and prides itself on curating an immersive social, bathing and dining experience. It’s unlike any day spa we’ve visited.
El Ranchero
Mo’s Desert Clubhouse, Burleigh’s thriving Americana psychedelic desert-inspired music venue, has a vibrant new bar and outdoor garden event space you need to check out, stat. El Ranchero is an eclectic bar and outdoor garden venue, inspired by a mix of colourful Mexico City culture and traditional hacienda vibes. It sets itself apart from standard bar and event spaces by boasting a sun-filled deck and spacious garden, bold accents like The Virgin Dolly's Margarita Bar and a Route 66-inspired silver bullet food truck.
The Winey Cow
There is certainly no lack of abundance of incredible cafes on the Gold Coast, but every now and then, a new spot opens up which really catches our eye. The Winey Cow is just that. If the name didn’t already pique your interest, let us enlighten you.
Vanitas
Palazzo Versace’s signature Italian restaurant, Vanitas, has re-opened after a twelve-month hiatus and it’s already shaking up the Gold Coast fine dining scene. Vanitas is unrivalled in sophisticated dining, with diners treated to a nine-course degustation menu that is a refined celebration of modern Italian classics, in a nod to the chefs’ European heritage.
Stone Studio
Stone Studio is a pottery studio centred around the philosophy of sharing and it’s their mission to share the joy of ceramics, encourage creativity and build community. Yes, it’s as wholesome as it sounds. Located in the heart of Miami, this sprawling community pottery studio and cafe offers an array of workshops and studio access for potters of all skill levels. They also have a pint-sized Kingscliff-based studio, on the corner of Marine Parade and Turnock Street.
Cheeky Waffles
Chocolate-covered penis and sprinkle-topped vulva waffles are on the menu at this saucy dessert shop in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Rude, anatomy-focused, or downright fun—whatever you want to say about it, Cheeky Waffles are sure as hell doing desserts differently.
