Charge your phone and pick out your favourite floral ‘fit, because the Scenic Rim’s beloved sunflower farm is opening its gates to welcome visitors back for their epic annual festival, showcasing their million (yes, A MILLION) beautiful, blooming sunflowers.
Save the date, because over the weekend of Friday 2 May to Sunday 4 May you can jump in the car and make tracks to the Kalbar Sunflower Festival where you'll bear witness to their astonishing fields of gold. During the festival you have full permission to wander the fields and take all the selfies, and you can even pick your own bunch of sunflowers while you're at it. Plus, be sure to work your way through the River 94.9 Maze set amongst four acres of sunflowers or make your mark in the Community Mural Project.
The experiences on offer at the Sunflower Festival include an animal petting farm, loads of free art and craft activities for all ages, sunflower-themed market stalls, yoga in the fields, helicopter flights. Hungry? Grab a bite to eat and get your daily caffeine fix from one of the coffee and food vans or book your spot at one of Kalbar's unforgettable charity luncheons and dinners featuring live entertainment, decadent dining, and exciting raffles.
