Any regular of Paddington Social will know that their croissants are some of the best in Brisbane. But after four years of slinging decadent double baked creations along with cabinet goods and hearty brunches to the locals of Paddington, the team behind the cafe-slash-bakery decided it was time that another inner city suburb got to enjoy their wares, opening brother venue Colin’s in Fortitude Valley.

Perched on the Wickham Street corner of the Emporium precinct, this cosy cafe has a little something for everyone, at every time of day. Stacked sandwiches are a signature—in fact, it was their popularity at Paddington Social, and around Brisbane, that inspired Colin’s to begin with. Wrap your hands around breakfast options like a bacon and egg roll or a breaky bagel, or drop in for a lunch of the mammoth chicken sando or the juicy brisket and pickle sandwich piled with melted cheese, mustard relish and sauerkraut.

There’s also a short but sweet all day brunch menu, featuring plenty of creations worth being late to work for, like the chorizo scotch egg with hash browns or spiced sweet corn fritters. A selection of salads, sweet treats, baked goods and hot pies and sausages rolls round out the offering, which is complemented by Zest Coffee, teas and cold drinks. A handful of tables inside and out ensure you can sit down and enjoy your chosen eats, but there’s plenty of takeaway options (including those sandwiches of course) so you can grab and go to eat at your desk.
