Brisbane’s Vertical Dining Experience Is Now Doing Champagne Brunches Every Sunday

By – who always has time to go to breakfast, no matter how busy she is.

You’ve probably had a boozy brunch at a rooftop venue—but have you ever enjoyed breakfast on the edge of a rooftop, with your feet dangling over a 17-metre drop below? That's just what you can now do on Sunday mornings at the Brisbane Powerhouse’s vertical dining experience, Vertigo, which after launching just last year has dropped another Australian first, combining avo on toast with a dash of thrill-seeking.

If you haven't heard about Vertigo, this adventurous dining experience sees you donning a safety harness and climbing out to a seat at a table hanging off the edge of the Powerhouse’s iconic industrial facade—17 metres above the ground. Here you’ll be served a feast from Bar Alto downstairs as you take in the impressive views—and don’t worry, it will be served on unbreakable crockery with cutlery attached to the table if you tend to have butterfingers.

While you can still opt for a sunset dinner on the rooftop four nights week, Vertigo now also offers what we think is the most unique Sunday brunch experiences in Brisbane. Starting at the leisurely time of 10am, you'll enjoy a glass of champagne and an entrée of fresh fruits and croissants to get you started, followed by your choice of either a Como high-top yoastie of porchetta and asiago, spanner crab Spanish omelette, or avocado on sourdough served with lime and goat’s curd.

The decadent meal ends with a Death by Chocolate flourless torte, coffee and an abseil off the edge of the building—plus an Aperol Spritz at the bottom, just to calm your nerves after the jump. Not a thrill seeker? Don't worry, you can also just head back down the stairs if the idea of jumping leaves you dizzy.

A spot at one of the sky-high tables for either Sunday brunch or dinner will set you back $250pp, with a set menu that can be adapted to suit most dietary requirements. Bookings are already open and you can lock yours in here
