Lash Cafe: Fit for a Queen

Recently opened Lash Cafe is adding further proof to my hypothesis that the southside is fast becoming the new cafe hub in Brisbane (case in point: Southside Tea Room, Bread and Butter General Store, and Bungalow 4171).

Lash Cafe is the perfect spot for a green tea and a slice of lemon cake. title=Lash Cafe is the perfect spot for a green tea and a slice of lemon cake.

Lash Cafe boasts everything a suburban cafe should - All day breakfast, a menu sourced exclusively from local suppliers and cakes fit for a queen (literally). The goodies gracing Lash's glass cabinets are made daily by Alison of Butterfly Delights, whose Australian shaped shortbreads were served to Her Royal Highness during her visit last year.

Gluten intolerants and coeliacs can also rejoice - almost everything on the menu is gluten free or can be made that way (except for the croissants). They even do a gluten free high tea from Wednesday to Sunday.

Hot tip: Lash Cafe is the perfect spot for a Sunday afternoon green tea and a slice of lemon cake. Even the non-sugar lover I took with me tried a piece of the macadamia slice which received the very high praise of "it's not too sickly sweet - delicious!"

Where: Lash Cafe is located at 296 Wynnum Rd | Norman Park
