Happy Little Dumplings on James Street

With Brisbanites swarming to their Bulimba store, Happy Little Dumplings is now alive and kicking in Fortitude Valley.

Store owners, Candice and Melita, have just made lunchtime around James Street a whole lot more exciting. Serving up a delicious assortment of gourmet, vegetarian and seafood dumplings, steamed buns and a few little sweet treats, everyone is, well, happy!

We were, of course, amongst the first to pop down and try their delicious handmade goodies when they opened on Thursday morning. Offering $1 dumplings between 10:00 – 11:00am daily, we stopped by for a second brekky of Pork Shu-Mai, Chinese Chilli Duck and Tofu and Ginger Jiaozi dumplings (it wasn’t quite elevenses, as we managed to smash out a third meal by 11:30).

Authentic, fresh and steamed right before your eyes, we know we’ll catch you sneaking back for seconds.

A few hot Urban List tips for the happiest experience – Get in early as the lines are manic and don’t dismiss the vegetarian dumplings for their lack of protein - they’re almost better then their meat-filled brothers.
